  2012 Tour Programme
From wonderful hill stations and narrow gauge railways to stunning countryside and wildlife combined with visits to fascinating heritage sites, Darjeeling Tours offers unique and specialist, group and unescorted tours to suit everyone. Whether you are a railway enthusiast, interested in Indian history & culture or you want to photograph the wonderful and colourful attractions of India, we can assure you a dream holiday to India. We're proud to be associated with the DHRS and to have the opportunity of bringing people to India to experience this magical railway first hand.

The railway scene in India is constantly changing and evolving. A programme of conversion to broad gauge, which has seen the disappearance of almost all of the metre gauge lines, is nearing completion, and the availability of heritage locomotives on all gauges – particularly steam – is never certain from one month to the next. Within this challenging environment, we’re always looking to identify new attractions for rail enthusiasts and incorporate them into our tours wherever possible.

2012 Tour highlights
Upcoming tours include Darjeeling, Sikkim and Bhutan (11 or 17 days, departs 7 April 2012) –
a fascinating tour taking you past Darjeeling (with steam charters of course!) towards the Himalayas and into Sikkim and mystical Bhutan. If you like adventure, then this tour is for you.

For first time visitors to India, we recommend our Indian Magic (16 days, departs 12 November). There’s a two day steam hauled charter train on the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway plus our exclusive steam-hauled dining train. Visit the iconic Taj Mahal in Agra and see the fabulous Amber Palace in the “pink city” of Jaipur. Enjoy a city tour of Delhi and the National Railway Museum. There’s also an optional add-on to the lovely Raj hill station of Shimla. Not just a “railway holiday”, this tour is great for partners too!
